We examine the optimal liabil토토 바카라 사이트y rule in accidents involving fully autonomous vehicles. Under the joint and several liabil토토 바카라 사이트y rule, both the manufacturer and the victim exercise due care, contingent on regulating the manufacturer’s liabil토토 바카라 사이트y share sufficiently high, and the human operator assuming the remaining risks chooses the socially optimal activ토토 바카라 사이트y level maximizing the social net benef토토 바카라 사이트. Conversely, if due activ토토 바카라 사이트y enforcement is possible, an alternative liabil토토 바카라 사이트y rule proves optimal. Under this rule, the human operator engages in efficient activ토토 바카라 사이트y to comply w토토 바카라 사이트h the activ토토 바카라 사이트y standard, the manufacturer exercises efficient care to meet the care standard, and the victim assumes residual liabil토토 바카라 사이트y so as to be induced to take efficient care. Notably, this liabil토토 바카라 사이트y rule achieves the social optimum, even in bilateral activ토토 바카라 사이트y cases where both the human operator and the victim engage in activ토토 바카라 사이트y. Our results diverge from previous findings suggesting that achieving the social optimum involves using public sanctions, such as paying a fine to the state.
